National Development and Reform Commission recently released the list of 7 provinces which didn't meet the standard of 10,000 yuan GDP energy consumption in 2007.
Guizhou Province was on the list. In first half of 2008, unit GDP energy consumption in Guizhou dropped by 3.15%, which failed to reach the original goal. Guizhou will carry out energy audit in key enterprises, and promote energy saving and emission reduction by means of punishment and rewards.
In 2007 the unit GDP energy consumption in Guizhou dropped by 3.97%, less than the original goal of 4.95%.
