Nearly 1 mln border crossings recorded in Macao during Mid-autumn Festival

Macao logged 971,982 border crossings during the holidays of the traditional Chinese Mid-autumn Festival, the Immigration Authorities of the Special Administration Region announced on Tuesday.

The Authorities said that total number of arrivals during the holidays, lasting from Sept. 13 to 15 this year, stood at 480, 981while total departures reached 491,001.

The Border Gate, the land port that connects Macao with Zhuhai in the Chinese mainland, recorded the largest arrivals and departures in the period, standing at 358,753 and 363,027 respectively, according to the Authorities.

Meanwhile, the total number of tourist arrivals in the period reached 243, 582 during the three-day holidays, increasing by 25.17 percent over the same period last year, according to the Authorities.
